The President Dr Mohamed Muizzu received a warm welcome from a large crowd gathered near the Villimale jetty this afternoon. Residents lined the area to greet him as he arrived, with many approaching to share their concerns and express support.
During the visit, President Muizzu toured several homes in Villimale, the satellite island of Malé, spending time with families and speaking with residents about their grievances. He also stopped to meet people on the streets, taking notes on the issues they raised.

He was accompanied by Moosa Ali Jaleel, the candidate for Mayor of Malé City, and Al Ustaza Aishath Alaika Adnan, the candidate for the Malé City Women’s Development Committee.
In addition to the house visits, the President carried out door to door campaigning to rally support for candidates in the Maafannu North constituency. He greeted people along the streets, exchanged views and spent time speaking with residents throughout the area.
Since taking office, President Muizzu has placed strong emphasis on direct engagement with the public. He has spent considerable time meeting residents across all neighbourhoods of the capital, continuing the weekly house visits he maintained during his tenure as Mayor. Less than two years into his presidency, he has already visited every island in the country, meeting communities and gathering their views on government policies.
