A street vendor in China is turning flowers into an unconventional deep-fried delicacy, swapping the usual sweet floral infusions for crispy, savory treats.

In a viral Instagram reel posted by user “xiaofeng202208,” the vendor is seen slicing sunflower heads before dipping them in batter and frying them in hot oil. He also fries a variety of leaves, chrysanthemums, roses, daisies, and even cactus, creating a striking bouquet of edible blooms.

Once fried to a crisp, the vendor sprinkles seasoning generously over the fritters and serves them in a bowl. The video has sparked amusement online, with one user commenting, “Bro’s frying the whole backyard,” while another quipped, “Goes to show anything can taste good when fried.”

While flowers like zucchini blossoms are commonly battered and stuffed, the idea of deep-frying roses or daisies takes floral cuisine into unexpected territory.
