SRINAGAR, India — Nestled in the heart of the Kashmir Valley, Srinagar International Airport saw a bustling year in 2024, welcoming approximately 4.4 million passengers despite occasional weather-related hiccups. The airport, a vital gateway to India’s northernmost region, recorded 28,348 flight movements, evenly split between arrivals and departures.
Even in the winter months, when snowfall can disrupt schedules, the airport maintained an average of 35 to 37 daily flights. That number surged to 45 to 50 during the summer, as travelers from across India and beyond flocked to the valley’s pristine lakes and alpine meadows.
Carriers such as SpiceJet, IndiGo, Air India Express, Akasa Air, and Air India ensured steady connectivity, catering to the steady stream of tourists and locals alike. Despite minor weather delays, airport officials said operations ran smoothly throughout the year, underscoring Srinagar’s growing appeal as a year-round travel destination.
