Let’s be real. We’re all living in a time where we’re constantly scrolling, chasing clout, and trying to secure the bag. But have you ever stopped to think about what happens after the screen goes black?
The Quran actually gives us this brutal, no-filter look into what the conversation at the gates of hell sounds like. And honestly? It’s a major vibe check.
“What has landed you in Hell?”
In Surah Al-Muddaththir, the people in the thick of it are asked: “What actually landed you in this mess?” Their response isn’t a long-winded excuse—it’s a list of major Ls.
- You stopped touching base with Allah
They said, “We weren’t the ones praying.”
They will reply, “We were not of those who prayed,
Look, prayer isn’t just a ritual; it’s your daily check-in with the One who created the whole system. When you ghost the Creator, you lose your sense of direction. It’s like trying to navigate life without GPS and wondering why you’re lost.
- You had zero “main character energy” for the community
They admitted: “We weren’t feeding the needy.”
nor did we feed the poor.
Being successful is cool, but if you’re hoarding your blessings and ignoring the people who actually need help, you’re just chasing empty wins. Empathy is the ultimate flex; don’t let your ego make you blind to someone else’s struggle.
- You were just riding the “toxic” wave
They said: “We were just vibing with the toxic crowd, talking trash just to fit in.”
We used to indulge ˹in falsehood˺ along with others,
We’ve all been there—being in a group chat or a friend group where the only goal is to gossip or hate on others. If your social circle is built on “hating,” you’re not building a life; you’re just digging a grave for your own character.
- You thought “The End” was a myth
They confessed: “We were out here capping about the Day of Judgment.”
and deny the Day of Judgment,
Living like there’s no accountability is the ultimate delulu. Whether you believe it or not, your energy today creates the reality of your tomorrow. Acting like nothing matters is a dangerous game.
The “Wild Animal” Energy
The most savage part? The Quran describes people who run from the truth like this:
“They’re like scared donkeys fleeing from a lion.”
as if they were spooked zebras. fleeing from a lion?
Think about it. We’re so busy running away from reality, blocking out anything that challenges our lifestyle, and dodging the “reminder” because it ruins our aesthetic. We’re sprinting away from the truth like it’s a predator, when in reality, the truth is the only thing that can actually set us free.
The takeaway? Stop running from the truth. Put your phone down, log off the toxicity, and stop living like you’re the main character in a movie that never ends. Accountability is coming—make sure your receipt is something you’re proud of.
Don’t be a spectator in your own life. Do the work, stay humble, and keep the vibes pure.
