In a startling development, at least nine schools across Delhi received anonymous bomb threats on Thursday, prompting immediate action from authorities as police deployed bomb disposal squads to inspect the premises. The threats, sent via written notes or digital messages, led to the evacuation of students and staff at the affected institutions as a precautionary measure.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rakesh Asthana, security teams were dispatched within minutes of the first threat being reported. “All schools were swept thoroughly, and no suspicious devices were detected,” the DCP stated. “We are treating this as a serious incident and investigating the source of the threats.”

The affected schools, located in areas such as South Delhi, West Delhi, and Central Delhi, were placed under heightened security. Students and parents expressed relief after the all-clear was given, though many raised concerns about safety protocols. “It was a scary moment, but the staff handled it calmly,” said a parent at one of the schools.

Delhi Education Minister Shiksha Mitrali assured that authorities are coordinating with police to enhance surveillance and security at educational institutions. “We are working closely with law enforcement to prevent such incidents in the future,” she said.

The Delhi Police have initiated a probe into the matter, examining the modus operandi of the threats. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

As investigations continue, schools have been advised to review their emergency response plans. The incident has reignited discussions about safety measures in educational spaces across the capital.
