Raised in a close-knit rural community, Kumar witnessed firsthand the challenges of limited medical access. But his trajectory changed when he ventured abroad for his studies, gaining exposure to world-class medical technologies in Germany, India, and the UAE. “That experience planted a seed in me,” he recalls. “Why should our people have to leave home for treatments they deserve right here?”
That question became his life’s work. In 2016, Kumar laid the foundations for PSH Hospitals with a small team and an unwavering vision. Today, the institution has grown into Fiji’s largest specialty hospital, housing 130 beds and offering cutting-edge treatments that once seemed out of reach for the region.
PSH has pioneered medical firsts in Fiji, from minimally invasive laser procedures for kidney stones to complex brain tumor removals completed in under two hours. But for Kumar, success isn’t just measured by technological advancements. His mission extends far beyond operating rooms and hospital corridors.
Determined to ensure affordability, PSH Hospitals has introduced subsidized consultation fees, round-the-clock emergency care, and specialized programs tailored to diverse patient needs. “Medicine is not just about treating illnesses,” Kumar says. “It’s about serving people.”
His commitment also reaches into the future of Fijian healthcare. By forging partnerships with local medical schools, PSH is training the next generation of doctors and nurses, ensuring that expertise remains in the country. “We’re not just building a hospital,” Kumar explains. “We’re building a legacy of care and self-reliance.”
In a country where many once had no choice but to seek treatment overseas, PSH Hospitals is reversing that trend. With new initiatives like pioneering cardiac surgeries that respect cultural traditions and the introduction of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, Kumar’s vision is turning Fiji into a medical hub for the Pacific.

He has conducted research at universities in Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand. With degrees in science and the biomedical polymer industry, Parvish has successfully built two hospitals, including the largest one in the South Pacific region.
